ELEMENTARY Religious Formation is a structured religious educational program for children in grades 1 - 5. The program is designed to give children an opportunity to come together as “community”, to celebrate God, one another, the world around them, and Jesus, their best friend and teacher, through the Catechism, Traditions and Devotions, Scripture/Bible Stories, Para-Liturgies, “Mission of Love” projects for the needy, and much more. To compliment and reinforce Catechism lessons and Scripture, the children participate in a variety of enjoyable and Spirit-filled activities, such as group discussion and holding Devotionals, Church “visits,” craft projects, music, puppet ministry, movies, learning prayers, skits/role play, “nature” walks, parties/celebrations, games, etc.

Catechists (Teachers) age 18 and up direct the lessons following a complete teachers manual and syllabus. Classroom Aides (Children who have been Confirmed - Adults) help the catechists to teach by taking attendance, checking homework, making copies, handing-out materials, and helping with discipline. Catechists and Classroom Aides are always in demand. No previous experience is required. Training sessions and workshops are held for volunteers and all materials are provided.

The
CHILDREN’S ADVISORY TEAM consists of 8-10 parent representatives. The team meets monthly and advises and assists the Religious Coordinator in activities like: Catechesis event planning, parent recruitment for events, program content evaluation, budget preparation, and representation on the Parish Religious Formation Committee. Representatives on this team are always welcomed.

Mission Statement: Mary, Queen of the Holy Rosary Roman Catholic 1st - 5th Grade Religious Formation Program seeks to present God to each child as a Father who is all knowing, loving, forgiving, eager to help and listen, and the Creator of all things, but especially that each and every person is His most loved, special, and unique creation. We hope to nurture each child's faith and help him/her grow in the knowledge of and relationship with the Lord so that he/she may more fully answer God's call to holiness.

1st - 5th grade Religious Formation is open to all children in the Parish. Classes are held on Sunday mornings from 9:30 A.M. - 10:45 A.M. in the ELC classrooms. However, classes are not held on the 3rd Sunday of each month, as this is Whole Community Assembly from 9:30 A.M. - 10:45 A.M. for all Parishioners.
