Confirmation IS:

· A sacrament of INITIATION into the Catholic Faith

· The sealing of the Holy Spirit

· The endowment of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit (wisdom, understanding, counsel, knowledge, fortitude, reverence and fear of the Lord.)

· A special strength to spread and defend the faith by word and action

· The ability to confess the name of Christ boldly, and never to be ashamed of the Cross

Confirmation is NOT:

· a rite of passage

· a coming of age

· a choice to remain Catholic

· becoming an “adult” in the Church

· graduation from religious instruction

Confirmation Preparation is open to 6th grade through 12^th grade students who have had First Communion and Religious Education.

Confirmation 2010:

Family's choice of either
